Must admit I struggle to understand why you would take an extra 3-5hrs each way with a stopover on the middle of the night to save £150.
I can absolutely understand doing this to fit in a couple of days in Istanbul though

I'll go and dig out my hard hat now.😁

Ian.

No need for a Hard Hat Ian, i am not throwing anything heavy  ;)

I can't speak for others as to why they prefer TA via Istanbul route to Dalaman, but for me it's totally as mentioned above. Not just £150 cheaper, but better service, Better aircraft (Often Wide Bodied Jet half full), FREE Inflight food and entertainment, more leg room, FREE 23Kgs Luggage, Free seat choice, Often(Not always) better arrival/Departure time (Not 02:00, but daylight hours flying and UK arrival time).

I just prefer it, and would do that route even if the saving was minimal, but as mention i fly 3-4 times a year so thats a saving of say £600 a year!!

If your going just for a once time Holiday a year, then yes, go QueasyJet and 'Enjoy' all that they don't have to offer, to get there 4-5 hours sooner.

Like i also said, it's horses for courses, but to throw this back at you 'I can't understand why, if you fly 4 times a year why you would not want to save over £500+ per year, and have a better experience'

Fly Safe Ian  :)

I guess after spending plenty of time in airports and on planes over the years I now want to spend as little time as possible in both.

A quick update re Turkish Airlines I text them via messenger and did get a reply I was sent a link on transfer/ transit passengers (we are classed as transfer passengers) and as “both legs” are with TA our baggage will be transferred for us
So hopefully all will be ok...
Iv saved the link they sent me if anyone else needs to read it tho I have no clue how to get it onto here !

Thanks again for all replies   :)

Ian

Living in Scotland and travelling all over I rarely have the opportunity of a direct flight so spend a fair amount of time on layovers at Schipol/LHR T5 etc. I paid for a lounge access membership - Priority Pass. My life improved immeasurably overnight :D I look forward to a good layover these days  ;)
