An update if I may

I have had to wait until I gave our grandson this montage before posting on here.

After I put it together, I took it down to the club on the off chance that they might ask the players who played against the Manchester United XI to sign it. The answer was an immediate and unequivocal yes. Not only that but Ritche Brittain, Ross County’s captain, personally made sure that the whole of the first team squad together with Derek Adams, the manager, signed it for Cameron.

And yet there was more.

Ivan Sproule, who only joined the club in January, when invited to sign had asked what Cameron’s story was. On being told, he went straight through to the boot room, collected his boots signed them and asked that they be given to the wee boy as a keepsake.

I have to say that Brenda and I have been deeply, deeply touched by the kindness shown by Ross County to our daughter’s son over these last few weeks.

I have to say that is incredibly kind and touching. I worked at Queens Park Rangers ground once, when they were possibly at their strongest. In reception there were shirts and footballs aplenty, all for good causes and all needing signed. I saw many of the squad come in and sign them all, one after the other, and it struck me then that this was a tedious chore that these stars had to go through week in week out. I doubt that even one of them ever wondered what a signed ball or shirt would be for, or what the story behind it might be.
