When using Firefox the smilies and the editing icons have gone,

Use slow absolutely useless Internet explorer and they are ok,   probably a really simple solution, and all down to me playing around with the settings AGAIN!

I'm on firefox and they are all there. The only problem I have (and I can't be bothered to sort it) is when I try and do bold text, add pics etc. The relevant boxes alway go to the bottom of my page and never where I try and put them. Works fine with AOL and IE though.

Aye... you've probably unchecked the box mark "load images automatically" under Tools >> Options >> Content.

Mine are ok.
This is on Firefox.

Thanks JOhn, it was as you said, I got rid of some images on websites and must have clicked for calis site too.  :D
