Looks like there are plans to move the shipyard from Fethiye up to the beach next to the Lykia Botanika !!

It's being fought by the Yaniklar villagers as the authorities want to move it to a beautiful stretch of unspoilt beach.

Does anyone remember the Turkish women of Yaniklar chained themselves to some railings in protest last year and I am sure it was over this issue and I thought at the time that maybe our dolphin protests had perhaps inspired them!

Starfish were told last Month that the lease for the beach is up, even though Yetis had a contract for 39 years, I suspect this is the reason, the new boatyard will be between Botanika and Starfish bar

Thats criminal. That stretch of beach is heaven. I am sorry that Yetis has had his contract terminated in this way it was a lovely bar and a lovely man.

Also what we have to remember is when the boat yards move, the existing site will not be brown bur very toxic. (I am a boaty) but do you think the belidiya will remove the top 3 meters of soil and add a membrain. I think not. Beware all who stay in the new hotels that will be built.
