I have a Toshiba laptop that until yesterday was fine and for some reason I can not switch it on!
Husband managed to yesterday after about four hours but nothing again today...
I googled the model and it seemed a few other people had the same problem but there was no solution posted...
Any advice would be greatly received thanks in advance...

Have you tried switching it on with the battery out?
-
Ooh no I have not but will give it a go, thank you...
-
Omg I have just done that and it has worked...thank you very much. :)

I have the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the motherboard or something major :( luckily it was under guarantee so got it sorted. The lights on the front were staying on but the actually laptop wouldn't turn on. Hope you don't have the same problem :(

It could be worth putting the battery back in once it is switched on, leave the mains lead in as well. Sometimes with tablets and smartphones once the battery gets absolutely drained it is difficult to restart the charging. It might recharge the battery, it might not but worth a go.

Thanks folks I would not be surprised if there is something major going on as it has been getting really hot as well! I will put the battery back in later and see what occurs, I must back my photos up on a memory stick tomorrow just in case it is going to conk out on me :(

Might be worth investing in a new battery.

Or a new laptop !!

I wouldn't bother with a memory stick as they too can get lost or broken. If you can get your laptop working without the battery, just log on to the internet and register with mega.co.nz they give you 50gb storage for free. The advantage of cloud storage such as this is that your photos are accessible via any connected laptop. If you also want to backup with a memory stick you can do that also but the former option is free and available now.

I shall do that in a mo fingers crossed my laptop with all my photos is working fine without the battery have not tried it again yet with the battery back in! ;D and I still have not backed up the photos so will look at that link and get it done..many thanks.

Think of the cloud as a giant filing cabinet in the sky. The link is giving you free access to a huge drawer in the cabinet which crucially you can access through any pc, as long as it is connected to the internet.
