After seven wonderful years at Mozaik Doğan and I have decided it's time to move on. We turned a scrubby little back street dirt garden (with everyone saying you won't make it work there), into Dogan's dream; a Turkish restaurant serving the famous Hatay cuisine of his home province; and became one of the most popular restaurants in Fethiye.
We couldn't have achieved this (especially in the early years) without the continued support of CBF members and in time we benefited from repeat business, plus their friends and family, word of mouth recommendations, TripAdvisor, online blogs such as Turkey's for Life and entries in numerous international travel books and magazines. For all of your support we thank you and will always be grateful.
We have had fantastic loyal, dedicated and happy staff teams over the years and are proud of our record of employing as many if not more women than men, including in frontline positions. We have seen our staff blossom and grow with some returning to education and others having experiences and opportunities they would never had had otherwise.
Our success as a restaurant has supported and provided incomes for our ever growing staff team and their families. The number of people financially supported by Mozaik including spouses and children is about 30 people a year.
Now, after seven years we now feel Mozaik will benefit from the enthusiasm and energy that comes with new owners. When we know who the new owners will be, we will let you know too.
In conclusion, I would just like to add, we have met literally thousands of amazing people from all around the world and are happy to count many as our friends. Our worlds are better places for these friendships.
Again, thank you all so much for your loyalty, enthusiasm for and enjoyment of what we have offered over the past seven years.
Dogan and Nichola
We would also like to apologize for any confusion and upset caused recently and especially to Don, who both we and Keith have been in touch with and everything is good.
We had intended to let everyone know when we could confirm who the new owners would be and what their intentions are. In light of our plans becoming a little prematurely public knowledge and knowing how passionate many of you are about Mozaik as part of its history, transition and success (it's as much yours in a way as it's ours) we felt we should clarify the situation and promise to keep you all up to date with developments as they happen.
-
Beautifully put Nichola.
Best wishes to you both for the future.
-
Terrible news, I'm in shock ;)
-
Lovely post Nichola. Huge thank you to you and Dogan for creating such a wonderful little place in the back streets of Fethiye! Once we'd found it (only via CBF) it became a firm favourite and a must every time we were in Calis. The food is to die for, your staff are wonderful and it's easy to see why it has become such a favourite with everyone.
Best wishes and good luck in whatever new venture you take on in the future.
-
May I be the first wish you all the best in your new venture - many folks have said a kebab van on the A9 southbound outside Perth will never work but I'm sure you and Doğan will make a success of it.
Oops, have I let the (stray) cat out of the bag...?

I sincerely hope you both go on to bigger and better things. You would never give up your lovely little place unless you had plans to expand your talents. All the very best to you both x
-
Lovely post Nichola, we shall miss you. I must say you've both made your mark on Fethiye and I hope some of your business ethos rubs off on others. I've never seen such a happy, amiable and comfortable staff anywhere! Be very proud of your amazing achievements. Good luck in your new ventures, I'm sure you'll succeed wherever you go. Be happy, love each other and live every day to its fullest.
Thank you! ;D ;D ;D xx
-
Such exciting times for you both. So much world to see and so much to do in the world.
All the very best from me and Jav. :)
-
Good luck with whatever you both chose to do.
Why don't you open a new restaurant in Ovacik ;)
-
Bugger ! Mrs KKOB and I have never been to the Mozaik but we'd promised ourselves a visit next year.
Best wishes for the future.
-
Best wishes to the both of you for whatever you are going to be doing and whereever you are going to be doing it. :)

Good luck to you both.
Fethyie will be a poorer place without you
-
:( :( Sad very sad....
-
I've told you what I think :(
Good luck with your future projects and plans, if they are born out of the vision that saw MB come into being then they will be a similar success.

All the best for the future ,you are a hard act to follow. Mick Pam & Melanie & Martin. 8)

Please forgive me if this is over long
I am not sure when we first “found” Mozaik but I do remember that we went around the houses a few times before we found the place that someone who we asked described as being "beside the two big palm trees".
Whenever it was, we have been “regular” visitors ever since. Be it at a steaming hot lunchtime when scunners description of “an oasis in Fethiye” was never more apt, or in a balmyTurkish evening, it was always blissful.
Without exception, it was a hugely enjoyable experience. We are so glad that we managed to make it in September despite Brenda’s difficulties.
We wouldn’t have missed it for the world especially given what we now know.
Nichola and Dogan – many people have made our holidays in Turkey special -you both are certainly two of them.
Thank you and please don’t be strangers
All our love xxx

Two of the world's most beautiful people. Good luck and huge success and happiness in all you both do. :)
-
Nichola & Dogan, you guys will be a very hard act to follow. We first came in 2009 and have loved the upgrading since then. The ambience, the quality and choices of food, the staff group, the lamps, even right down to the lemon water sprinkled on after eating at the Mozaik Bahce, makes it a very special place. But most of all, The smiles as big as the ocean and the very warm welcome diners receive from you both, make people feel special when they dine there. Robin and I wish you all you'd wish for yourselves, and good luck in whatever you do. xxx

Nichola & Dogan
Sue & I visited many times over the last 6 years or so... never disappointed and always made very welcome by yourself & your wonderful staff.
We, like everyone else want to wish you every success in your new venture!
Dave & Sue xx

Each time i have family or friends visit me i always suggest a night at Mozaik, the reason being you know before you get there the food will be excellent, the staff are happy and friendly, the restaurant is clean and in a lovely setting, all this together makes for a fantastic place. Dnnt know your plans for the future but if you are going to a new venture all i can say is a repeat performance will be a sure hit. Will miss this place but understand fully that you need a change, wishing you the best of luck in the future. :'(

Its is sadness for us eaters that the "Jewel in the Crown" will just not be the same.......Your kindness, talents and compassion have made Mozaic what it is. You two will go far, in your chosen venture, in miles too I expect!! Wishing you exciting times ahead, you will be missed muchly, Lots of Love Barbara and Mick xxxx

. will ring you when im back from Bodrum , see you.

If it wasn't for CBF we wouldn't have even known that Mozaik Bahce existed - so huge thanks to CBF! Mozaik turned out to be our favourite restaurant in Fethiye and we always made a visit, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for dinner but it was always the meal we most looked forward to during our holiday. We were so disappointed to hear this news :(
-
A lovely post Nichola. We will be sad to see Mozaik Bahce go as we know it. We would like to wish you and Dogan all the very best in the future in whatever venture you go into. Sandra & Tony xx
-
Nicola and Dogan................good luck, good health, God bless and many thanks. My one regret was that whenever we called for lunch, Nicola was away. However, we did meet Dogan in June this year and as usual our meal was perfect. You have brought delight and happy memories to so many people.
Vaja con Dios! :) :-*
-
Such a shame it's time for you to move on. Congratulations on building such a fantastic thriving business and I sincerely hope the new owners maintain your impeccable standards. Good luck and very best wishes to you both x
-
Nichola and Dogan - wishing you all the very best and lots of happiness for the future. You will be sadly missed at Mozaik - always happy and welcoming to all your customers, you made visiting the restaurant an absolute pleasure. Good luck in whatever you plan to do; I guess lots of travelling is on the cards? :) Sending love to you both, Jules & Garry xx
-
All the best for the future and wherever life takes you :) :)
-
So sad you have decided to move on. The atmosphere in your place was something you don't experience everywhere. It was even a pleasure to have to sit outside on the wall and wait for a table. What more can we say. Good Luck and Take Care.
Chris n Daina.
-
Good luck with your new venture
-
Nicky & Dogan, Mozaik was the one place that we knew we could recommend without worrying and where we could take our family and friends, knowing that they would thoroughly enjoy the unique experience that you and the staff provided.
We watched Mozaik grow from the beginning and it was the only place that we saw, where people queued for a table!
We are sad that it's time for you to move on, but it's not a decision that you will have taken lightly and we wish you the absolute best for whatever the future holds for you both. Tony & Sue xx
-
Well flipping typical! We never got there either and were planning to in June! Good luck to you in whatever lies ahead!
-
We have enjoyed your company and cuisine on many occasions and have had no hesitation in recommending Mozaic Bache to everyone. We will miss seeing Nichola and Dogan but am sure the restaurant will continue and flourish as the staff there are some of the best in Fethiye. Good luck with your future plans Nichola and Dogan - I hope our paths will cross again in the future. xxx
-
We only visited once and had a great meal. I was planning a meze and raki afternoon for my next visit. Oh well, all the best for your next venture.
-
There was a time when I thought that all of the staff must be relations because everyone of them seemed to be a character reflection of Dogan.
Having the gift of employing the right people was yet another one of the beauties of Mozaik Bahce.
Whatever the future holds for the restaurant, we are hoping that it will still be a magnet for us when seeking a meze for two and when showing our friends THE best of Fethiye restaurants.
Time will tell.
Whatever the future holds for you both, you should take great pride in your achievement in business and, perhaps, more importantly, take great satisfaction from knowing that so many took such great pleasure from you and your restaurant.
Thanks.
-
to our very special friends, Nik and Dogan.......we had rather selfishly hoped that you may change your mind.....as we have not only enjoyed the wonderful haven that you created at Mozaik, the amazing food and the banter with your incredible team, but we have treasured your friendship and spending special time with you both. We didn't just find an amazing restaurant when we discovered Mozaik all those years ago, we found two very special people, who we now have the privilege to call friends I pray we will share many more special days /evenings together in the future - where ever that may be ;) :D . We wish you both much health and happiness, enjoy the exciting things ahead. Love you both heaps . (PS: Where on earth is Warti going to get his liver kebab now ??!!) xxx
-
Good luck to you both, loved a quite lunch on an afternoon (the rather large chicken wrap) with one of the best fresh lemonades I have had.
One thing I will miss is the consistent quality not just week to week but year on year
Thanks again
-
I can only repeat eveyone elses comments so Ill

-
Please let us know your future plans, we love your food and would gladly promote any new venture anywhere in the world
Best wishes for the future
-
Agree with all the other folk ! Just a big thank you all , Stan Jo and James. Good luck
-
Having read this with great sadness, and actual tears in my eyes. We feel blessed to have been able to have met Nichola and Dogan, and all the wonderful other people there at. Mozaic.
Good luck to the both of you in your new venture, keep in touch. X
-
Good luck to you both. It won't be the same without you but hope the new owners keep up your high standards!
-
I can only echo what all previous posters have said.
I was lucky to be at MB on their final night and to say good bye to Nichola and Dogan. Without doubt, it was the finest meal we have had out all year. And that speaks volumes...
MB was (is?) the only restaurant you could recommend to family and friends with total confidence, knowing the meal would be consistently good and fantastic value for money at any time. Not forgetting the excellent service of course.
I am positive that whatever you decide to do in the future it will be successful. Luck has nothing to do with it!
A heartfelt THANK YOU from us! x
-
Good luck to both of you.
-
Best wishes for your new future.
-
We consider ourselves privileged to have met both of you, two of the nicest people you could wish to meet, not to mention the fabulous meals we have enjoyed there. All the best for the future. Paul & Lorraine.
-
Good luck for the future Nicola and Dogan. From David and Claire. :)
-
Only just seen this and read with great sadness - and shock. I can only repeat what everyone else has said - we always knew we could get a consistently excellent meal at Mozaic, with such delightful people. I knew I could recommend the restaurant to friends and felt very comfortable going alone when I was out in Fethiye on my own. If I Skyped Mark from there, Nichola and Dogan would always wave, say 'hello' and they missed him.
I do hope new owners are able to maintain the standards, but they'll have a very hard act to follow.
All the very best to you both and we look forward to hearing what your new venture will be. Something to do with photography for you, Nichola?
We will really miss you both - and the restaurant - and are greatly saddened by the news. However we obviously wish you the very best of luck for the future. Have a great Christmas and hope the changes for you in 2016 are all you hope for.
-
Thank you all so much for all your lovely comments and good wishes, and for once again voting us the best restaurant in Fethiye 2015. We are going to miss you all terribly and it will be very strange not to be the owners at Mozaik. We still haven't really come to terms with it yet and I am still managing the FB page for the time being.
I am now able to confirm that we have completed the sale on the restaurant to a lovely young couple and some of you may know the new owners.
Hussein (spelling?) originally from Hatay and who currently manages the service in Adres Restauarnt and his wife (Deren sp?) are the new owners and they will work together running the restaurant.
Hussein has offered all the staff to stay on in their jobs although it is possible there may be the odd change but that's not unusual as people do come and go, and the menu will, as I understand it remain largely unchanged.
Hussein has a huge amount of restaurant experience, has worked in kitchens and I believe Adres has something like 40 staff that he is responsible for managing so he is ready to take the next step and take on his own restaurant.
We will be around, behind the scenes at the beginning of the season to help him get started but you won't see us there as we don't want to get in their way. We, or I, may however lead in organizing the opening party for them so that may be the one day when we will be there.
I believe that they are thinking of opening in mid April and I'll continue to update CBF with any news and relevant developments until they open. I am sure like us you will wish the new owners every success for the future.
As for what we will be doing, yes Wendy I'd like to spend more time on improving my photography and in early May Dogan and I will be heading off in our motor home to travel around Turkey, visit places that are normally only accessible or viable to visit in the summer months, revisit old favourites, and if possible spend time along the eastern border.
Beyond the next 18 months or so we do have some ideas about what we would like to do next but we shall have to wait and see, and who knows what opportunities might present themselves along the way...
I'll still be here on CBF as the forum has always been more to me than just a means to promote our business, and I'll probably start a new topic to share some of our photos from our travels.
Again, thank you so much to all those that have made the past seven years so memorable.
-
A lovely post Nichola, it's great that at least for a while you will still be around. I'm sure Hussein and his wife will continue the brilliant service that you and Dogan have created and they will be most grateful for your generous, background advice when needed. I also wish them the very best of luck with their new venture. You are a hard double act to follow! We will miss you there of course but will be eagerly looking out for news of your travels and photos! Why don't you start a blog? I'm sure many of us would be avid followers! Many thanks for everything. xx ;D
-
All the best, Nicola. Looking forward to the promised Photo Travelogue.
-
Lotty, I can't decide between a blog or a FB page... FB is more interactive and I think I'm going to miss that when I hand over the Mozaik FB page...
-
Aw... I'm not on FB. Maybe you'll decide to do both? ;) good luck whatever. ;D
-
Enjoy your travels and your photography. We are around May/June so might just catch you I hope.
-
That would be really nice Stoop. It will be great to have a chat and a catch up socially :)
-
:)
-
Glad for you that you have finalised the sale of the restaurant. Enjoy your travels - we had a great time in Capadoccia and are off to Burma next month. Looking forward to seeing your photos and hearing of your travels in whatever form you choose.
Hope you enjoy your break from the undoubted hard work of running MB. If they are keeping on your kitchen staff we hope the new owners are able to maintain food standards, but it won't be the same without you both.
We'll also be back out from mid May if you are still around and would be good to see you and catch up on your plans if you have the opportunity.
Very best of luck with everything from us both...

Good luck in everything you plan to do. It has always been such a pleasure meeting you at Mozaik and wherever else we have bumped into you. We will be over mid June and will.of course be visiting Mozaik. Take care and stay safe. Xxx
-
Stunning photo Wendy, and yes it would be lovely to meet you, and Mark if you haven't left him at home ;) if we are still here when you are over.
Hüseyin and Deren came around on Saturday bearing gifts that included the most delicious tiramisu I have ever eaten made by Hüseyin himself. It's almost a shame its not a cake shop they are taking on if his tiramisu is a benchmark for his other dessert specialities that also extend to homemade cheesecake.
We have handed over the Mozaik email address (a total nightmare with loads of security hoops to jump through to achieve that), added Deren as an admin on the Facebook page and Hüseyin managed to conquer the intricacies of TripAdvisor and is now a registered owner.
I took some photos and I am just waiting to hear which one they like best so that we can formally break the news, and introduce them as the new owners on Mozaik FB page. I will also post one here too later today or tomorrow when I know their preference.
-
Sorry for the delay, I've been being a bit lazy...
Let me introduce you to Hüseyin (I think I forgot to say that he is originally from Hatay so he knows the Hatay kitchen very well) and his wife Deren...

They look like very nice people! I'm sure they're excited about their new venture and must know they have a hard act to follow. Very best of luck to them!
Looking forward to meeting them. ;D
-
Brenda and I would like to wish them every success
-
All the very best to them both. We hope to meet them in the summer.
-
all the best to you all, exciting times! They really are very lucky to be taking such a successful venture, and we will certainly pop in in June. Enjoy your travels, people following there dreams is to me such a huge part of life, I wish you all the best
-
Thank you we will miss you.
