Internet Connection

Hi there, my husband and I are getting ready to move out to Calis in 5 weeks time and have a question re internet connections.  We at the moment run our laptop of a Netgear Wireless Router and was wondering if this would be an option for us in Calis.

We have been told that there is broadband available in some parts of Calis, is it readily available or is it just available along the front?

The house we have bought is closeby to the Nasar Garden Hotel.

Also how easy is it to get an internet provider in Turkey?  We currently use AOL but have been told we will be unable to use them.

Thanks for all your help.

You will be able to use your Netgear Wireless Router,
broadband is widely available.
It`s quite easy to get (it takes a while though) the only isp available in calis at present is ttnet, though after January the market is opening up.

Thanks for the replies, we'll pack the netgear router then!  Any ideas as to who we go to to get it all set up?

You need to go to Turk Telekom and it's best to take a Turkish speaker along with you.

you also need to be a resident or chat someone who is a resident up so they can put it in their name.
