We are coming out in October and plan to do some exploring so we have decided to rent a car fdor the week. We are thinking about having a car from the airport, anybody do the same, I have heard of someone who is met at the airport with the car then the guy drives them back to his house and then they drive on to their apartment and then they pick him up when they are going back to the airport. Is that how it works generally?

Hire a car nearly everytime - normally we pick up and drop it at the airport. Easily done and driving to Calis very straight forward. Cost is about £140 per week (I paid this in July) you may get a slightly better deal for Oct.

Try Nikkie,Sunnyd on the Forum, she will arrange it for you and you will get the CBF discount.
We get picked up in the car at the airport and driven back and the car is left with us, same going back.  The last car we had used LPG which was cheaper than petrol.
