I came across this news report on Facebook about fairly recent research that had identified a very cheap cure for cancer with minimal side effects. It is a drug that is already available but non-patented.
News report (3mins)
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150635846921971 What needs to happen next is proper clinical research which costs in the region of 100 million US$ but the big question is who is going to do and fund it. The pharmaceutical companies are not interested in doing the research as there is no profit in a cure for cancer, in fact just the reverse, big losses as their drugs become irrelevant.
It's not the first time something like this has happened and the problems are compounded because these days’ governments rarely fund research projects.
I am asking all of you to please write to Rabin Martin who is the lead organization for the (Bill) Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) whose mission is to turn ideas into action with regard to addressing gaps in policy and research for non communicable diseases including cancer – see link below for more information.
These are the letters I have sent and if you are as appalled as I am at the right to health being denied to you, your friends and your family I very much hope you will join me in writing to them too. I ask also that you share this on your own Facebook wall, Facebook group walls that you are a member of and encourage others to do the same via Facebook and email.
Please comment below if you have taken action as it motivates others to do the same and keeps the topic live and if you have any ideas about who else we can write to please share the details below too.

I notice that Rabin Martin are the lead organization for the Clinton Global initiative with regard to addressing gaps in policy and research for non communicable diseases including cancer.
I would like to draw you attention to this recent development in Canada which outlines a potential cure for cancer that the pharmaceutical companies are not interested in because there is no profit in this cheap and non patented and already available drug.
This appears to be exactly the sort of ground breaking research that the Global Initiative should take forward and could potentially reap untold rewards and quantifiable benefits for millions of people around the world.
Please watch this 3 minute video for more details and I hope to hear your thoughts about the possibility of the Global Initiative taking a lead in this matter.
