A Swimming Pool Question and an Apartment Question.
« on: April 01, 2013, 14:14:00 PM »

Please can someone tell me the difference, if any, between a communal pool and a shared pool advertised in property for sale.

What is the difference in an apartment and a duplex apartment and a house or a villa?

Sorry for being so thick ;D : :) ???

Hmmm

A shared pool is what I used to write for a pool shared by two properties (like semis), a communal pool is one on a complex of a number of apartments/villas.

An apartment is one floor, a duplex is over two floors (normally highest floor and roof space in Calis).

The difference between a house and a villa is the most difficult one. Not anything definite in my opinion.

our Calis villa is a semi detached duplex . on 2 floors rather like a conventional semi in the UK.  A triplex has 3 floors. Hope this helps.

I always though Duplexs were for blocks of apartments (ie it has another apartment(s) above or below it and the duplex itself is over 2 floors

What you described is a semi villa.....but then again...what do I know

my tapu says duplex.  I worked in construction in the UK for many years and got to know all the estate agents jargon. we used to call a duplex [ 2 floors] a maisonette . But that was before we sexed things up haha. Our own UK property is a bungalow and I dont know if the name exists in Turkey, I rather think it would just be called a villa or a house . The duplex distinquishes it from a 1 floor dwelling.

You can sex up a one floor apartment too these days. I have seen them called 'simplex'. Total nonsense of course.
