First match of the season
« on: August 03, 2019, 08:02:24 AM »
Find my season ticket, dig my scarf out and get my bag ready, no hot chocolate today just a bottle of cold water. Check new squad numbers, particularly the new signing whose name you can’t pronounce getting excited now. Have the usual guess the score conversation in the car, 2.1, 1.0, 2.0, all positive the expectations are high. Everyone is buzzing walking to the ground, yet again we discuss how strange it feels to be going to football in our t-shirts on a nice sunny day, say hi to our football family and enquire if they have had a good break. The players walk onto the pitch everyone full of optimism maybe this year we will be in the play-offs and every game is exciting and lots of goals 🤔. First match of the season a new start when hope springs eternal. Good luck to everyone out there who is about to go through the same ritual, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

P.S last year we finished 15th 😂

Blackburn Rovers, seen good times and bad but your team is your team. Excellent result for Luton last night, hope Eric was looking on down from above, my mums favourite comedian.

Well that optimism lasted all of ten minutes, I should know by now. We were beaten again not by a better team but by our own mistakes and why do players seem lethargic and disinterested in the first match of the season. As they say footballs a funny old game but I will be there next time to take more punishment, or hopefully not. My cousin wasn’t happy either they have stopped selling Holland’s pies 😂
