Why do you say that, John? Is it a feeling or something specific?

Asking only 'cause I am planning my Motif dinner nights!

As in most resorts around the world there will be some establishments that won't survive, but I bet the resorts themselves will come through this setback as they have in the past.

I was just thinking about how much we spend in Calis in a year and if we are unable to fly then multiplying that be the number of tourists of all nationalities what affect that would have on bars and restaurants in the 2020 season.

PS Some people will spend more than us and some less.

Not many will spend less than you John  ;)

I think it will all push on - people will rebook later in season, making it a shorter, later but busier season. I just hope businesses can hang on...

We may also see the rise in Turkish "staycations" as well...as the exclusion orders prevent travel from the majority of east Asia (the rise in Chinese tourists in Fethiye had been documented) and Italy...it may perhaps encourage more northern and central Turks to head to the south coasts.

There are many expats in Calis that keep bars and restaurants open all year. Calis is not just for tourists. Many establishments will miss the tourists but many rely more on expats.

If the expats on FB have anything to do with it it will.  They think everyone and their Granny has no right to visit.
I was reading a thread earlier today, started by someone I thought would know better, about people visiting Uzumlu and daring to go out for the evening.
With attitudes like that I fear Calis and other resorts are in for a rocky time
