For what its worth.....I have over 100 years experience in HR and run a consultancy based in Cambridge.  In terms of can you do anything about this, it all depends whether there is a mobility clause in your contract of employment...it pays to read the small print .... happy to check it out for you if I can be of help xx

Well it’s official now.

My employer is sending me off to the Isle of Barra for 3 to 4 months.

I will be stationed in a remote part of the island and won’t have internet access.

My apologies for not owning up sooner after 12 noon but I have been unavoidably detained since my post at 10:26.

My posting to Barra is indeed a hoax as indeed is scunner and my mini spat within the thread (and on the Thomson thread).

My thanks to pookie and scunner for their assistance in the deception.
