How Were the Famous People You Met?

Slow news day I admit, but I just remembered that I 'met' David Walliams in Charing Cross when over in the UK for an exhibition. I did the whole "I know I know you but I can't think where from" bit - and he knew I was, giving me a huge "hello!" and walking on past. He seemed a pleasant fella.

My father in law (RIP) went one stage further, he met Eric Bristow in Stoke and asked him if he was still at the factory.

I hear celebrities can be quite horrible but struggle to recall meeting even one of this type (it may come) - so, what famous people did you meet that were nice, or indeed, not nice.

Oh, I did the same with Windsor Davies in Tottenham Court Road many years ago, and he responded with the most fantastic "lovely boy" expression!

Whilst chairing a large black tie dinner I had the enormous pleasure of meeting Gordon Brown (the Broon frae Troon)

An absolute gentleman.

He started his after-dinner speech with this.....

Ladies and gentlemen I stand before you (at 6'5" and over 17 stone) a broken man. I have lost my battle against anorexia.

He proceeded to captivate the 120 present for 40 minutes without the use of a single note and sat down to a richly deserved standing ovation.

Taken from us at 53 years old.

I have met some famous people and some through my business.  However, I have had the pleasure of having titled people as customers and always found them to be so unassuming, never mentioning their titles and always wanting to be on first name terms.
