Holiday magic music
« on: April 09, 2018, 14:34:29 PM »
We were listening to Smooth Radio on Saturday night and a song came on sung by Julio Eglesias.. It transported us back in time to our first and the most magical holiday that we had at The Tenerife Princess..The album was 1100 Bel Air Place.. We only had it on Tape and have just sent for it again from Amazon... Simply Red's first album was playing all day around the pool.. I have of course several from my time in Fethiye..but I would have to say Summer Jam and  Kiss (of course) were the first we heard on our first Turkish holiday.. Has anyone else got a memorable Holiday song.. ?

Ska Ka-Bop by The Brooklyn Funk Essentials was played regularly in the Tequila Bar in Oludeniz.

First trip to Turkey it was Tarkan with Kiss Kiss, more recently it seemed to be Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars but the most evocative of the times and places is Sound of Silence by The Disturbed.

I too followed Highlander's post of the version by The Disturbed. I've played it many, many times since then and recommended it to so many people.  It's so special to me as it brings back precious memories of my late wife and the times when we used to listen and to dance to the original S & G version.  Happy days.

Highlander, you've got me going again!  I had to follow your link and listen to it again and, yes, the emotion came flooding in and the old eyes became blurred with tears.  Thank you.

I am sure I've said this before but the first time I came down for breakfast at Letoon, Eva Cassidy was playing on the CD, the lady on the right was behind the bar and I was greeted with this beautiful vista. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Mind you, being there with the lady on the left made things even more perfect.
