Title: Pop quiz - come over here if you think your musical enough!!
Post by: usedbustickets on December 03, 2014, 11:27:22 AM
This is an intro lyrics competition, song title and (original) singer/group.  Please set out your answers below, and I'll give the answers on Friday....enjoy

1 - Come on feet get moving, got to get me there.....

2 - I'm her yesterday man.....

3 - The moment I wake up, before I put on my make up.....

4- On her way to work one morning, on the path beside the lake...

5 - Thinkin' 'bout the times you drove in my car....

6 - Here's my story, it's sad but true.....

7 - You think we look pretty good together......

8 - There's nowhere in the world that I would rather be, Than with you my love.....

9 - Well she's my woman of gold, And she's not very old....

10 - My daddy left home when I was three.......

Finally an extra point for knowing what this great song, sung by the great Tome Jones, has to do with Skiffle.

Your right a number of people have sung it, including Tom Jones, but Al Wilson is the one that everyone remembers (and IMHO the best version) because of the Northern Soul connection.

Sorry I'm a bit late. Only just spotted the quiz. Just wanted to add a little more about "I'll never fall in love again" Not only did Lonnie Donegan sing it, I'm pretty sure he also wrote it.

Rik you are right Lonnie Donnegan did indeed (co) write the hit, it was I believe taken/influenced by some traditional tune.  It was the additional information I was looking for in the answer, so give yer self an extra hundred points  ;) ;D ;D
