As many of you know I'm currently dashing all over the UK collecting and delivering vehicles. While doing it, I'm using my daughter's old Tom Tom but I need to think about getting my own.

Can anyone recommend which model to get that will cover the UK and Europe and will also allow me to add Turkey at a later date ?

Lance don't bother answering this 'cos it's way out of your league cheers.  ;):D ;)

Tom Tom XL you can buy maps, we have Turkey but to be honest we spend most of our time driving in the middle of nowhere as the road we are on is not on the map. Less to do with the model and more to do with Turkey!

Get a decent Nokia smart phone and you will get worldwide sat nav for free. We used my wife's 5800 in NZ recently (formerly my phone before I went iphone)and it was fantastic.

I hear the new n8 is fantastic and also has a 12mp camera.

All you do is go onto the nokia website and you can download any country you want - as long as they have roads lol.

Added bonus is that you don't need to have a signal from your provider to use it. It just uses the satelite and there is no charge for this at all.

One of my colleagues has an app for his Ipod Touch that he now uses instead of his very expensive (and useless satnav). It costs about £70 I think and her really recommends it. I use an RAC satnav in my role and find it's fine and I also drive all over the country, but I'm not sure about foreign coverage. This is my 3rd satnav and it's the best one I've had so far.

Yes it gives turn by turn voice instructions and you can also buy cheap car fittings off ebay including car chargers et. I think I paid £5.00 for the charger and window fixing.

It's run by ovi maps and if you google ovi you will see what I mean.

Really easy and excellent quality - added bonus is its free with their smart phones on any tarif.
