I hope you get one Keith, if theres a particular breed that you want why not? We have always preferred Cavaliers KC spaniels and have travelled to the dark side( manchester) to get one from a particular breeder so I know how you feel! We were less specifc with our last mutt as we wanted a companion for the cav( hence the cavfan- get it!) and rehomed a westie from a website called 'preloved'! best thing we ever did! Shes adorable, clever, bright willfull and very yappy!
We once posted a little video on facebook of ours dancing to Kylie- we received some very unpleasant comments so much so we had to remove the video! We were doing no harm to the creature, she is well loved and cared for- has a very waggy tale but because there happened to be a glass of wine in shot that clearly indicated we were drunk in charge of a defensless animal! There'll always someone to have a pop! Shaun deleted them off facebook!

Thank you Maria - we had a Border before the kids were born and we both absolutely love them. It's what we have decided on and I'd happily take a homeless one or a blind one or a three legged one - sadly all such searches have so far been fruitless.

We have found a litter not too far from us, so for now thanks to all, no more suggestions or lectures required.

Terriers, great pets, real characters, true companions.  I hope you find yours, maybe two  :)

I've emailed you some info about a 4 week old pup that's going to be available.

Borders in my view are the best looking (as in the face/head) dog going, however we keep Lakeland Fell Terriers, originally bred to go into a fox/badger den and kill its prey (other terriers bred to chase prey out).  In the house the perfect pet dog - very good alarm dogs, but get them out and hard as nails on the fell.

Good luck with the Border.
