Very probably.

The TL has lost 2.46% in the last 24 hours. To put that in other terms, if you had £100,000 in TL in the bank, you lost around £2,700 pounds today alone.

Another drop to 9.35 this morning. Your £100,000 would have lost a further £940 or so.

In other trades gold is up 65% on the lira in one year. While it has a fascination watching a currency as volatile as the lira I often wonder what decisions the typical one man or one woman business owner makes regarding holding lira, buying FX or gold. It can't be far short of a continuous nightmare.

I've just got back from a week at Violet. My range was 8.704 to 9.078. These are "actuals" after back calculating from Halifax statements. I mainly withdraw from ATM in 2000 ytl lots.

Do the ATM owning banks charge a fee with your Halifax card Ken?
