with the current uncertainty about flights, what is the latest you can leave it to apply for a visa? Is one or two days before departure OK?

Kenkay, you dont need a visa anymore, from the 2nd of March this year !!   :)

From Uk Gov website.
British Citizens travelling to Turkey for tourist or business purposes are able to travel without a visa for visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.  :)

Thanks John. Me and the missus obeying all the rules and so far staying safe. Hope you and Brenda same. My daughter is hoping to go to Violet on July 18th. I'm keeping fingers crossed for 19th August until 30th Sept.
