Facebook - how to identify someone
« on: November 07, 2012, 20:07:48 PM »
Hi  can any of you computer boffins tell me how I can find the true identity of someone on facebook?
I have someone making silly comments on a open page, we have now blocked them but I would be interested to find out who they were!
Thanks
'Lil

You can't.....unless...

A) they have their name in their profile

B) you try and identify them through their Facebook friends

Or C) you get a legal agreement for Facebook to release the information (if they have it)

Why do people hide behind a false name?

When you run a large discussion forum for 10 years, people who become 'hard' because nobody knows who they are loses it's amusement value. Not lost my sense of humour I promise  :)

Thank god for that !!! I've got a wee buy and sell page and there was a numpty on it making cheeky, sarcastic sexual inuendos. He was soon booted out when I invited all the members of the group to write on his wall and the wall of his friends (who were "public" ;) and let them know what the bawbag was writing to certain women. He soon deleted his facebook account
