Could your quiz team be crowned "Calis Carnival Quiz Champions 2009"?
Local quiz teams in the area are invited to take part in the annual Calis Carnival Quiz on Friday 3 April at the new Cafe Pazar in Calis when the "Shamrock Shakers" from the Shamrock Irish Bar in Calis will be defending their title of "Calis Carnival Quiz Champions" and trying to retain the cup which they narrowly won last year. The entry fee will be 1 lira per person which will go towards Carnival charities. Teams will be limited to a maximum number of six people, and the winning team will not only win a round of drinks but will be presented with a trophy to be displayed on their mantel piece or in a bar or restaurant of their choice for the coming year.
The quiz which starts at 8.00 pm prompt will consist of 10 subject rounds and will include a joker round.
Throughout the evening, the horses running in the following days Grand National at Aintree racecourse will be auctioned off and there will be prizes of large food and drink hampers for the first four placed.
Quiz teams will be required to register with the Carnival Committee in advance and for those who wish to eat first, Cathy at Cafe Pazar will be providing Fish Chips and Mushy peas for 10 TL between 5.30 and 7.30 (advance food orders only).
