CARNIVAL CONCERT ACTS ANNOUNCED
« on: May 03, 2009, 22:06:57 PM »
Opera fans are in for a treat when "Pavarotti" performs live at the big free evening concert which finales Calis Carnival Day on Saturday, May 23.

"Luciano Pavarotti", otherwise known as British tenor Tony St. John,  is flying out from England to join the other acts who are all donating their time for free to  perform  at the concert. Not only is Tony a Pavarotti look-a-like he is also one of the best Pavarotti sound-a-likes around today. Complete with the voice, the looks and the extra padding, he has been performing his tribute to the great Pavarotti for 12 years.

His sensational performances have taken him all over the world performing in Las Vegas, New York, Verona, Denmark, Paris, Gibraltar and Spain as well as many major UK hotels and theatres. He has starred in many leading roles in musicals and opera and in 1985 performed with Placido Domingo in a Covent Garden production of Tosca.

A firm favourite of  the football crowds, he  has sang at Wembley Stadium, Leeds, Watford, and The Stadium of Light to capacity crowds and his previous clients include British supermarkets Safeway advertising the Italian range of foods and Asda advertising Dolmio sauce.

Joining Pavarotti on stage will be popular 7 piece Turkish folk band Group Taka who recently wowed audiences at Fethiye Cultural Centre and have a big fan base in the area. Other great acts appearing are popular, local, talented singer Paul Wynter (former Midlands Entertainer Of The Year), Tom Moss who performed in the cast of  "Les Miserables" in London for 4 years, powerful singer  Dee Dee Wilde who is sure to have you up dancing, the members of the Calis Guitar Club and Fethiye dance company, Performance Dance.  The evening's musical extravaganza will be compered by dynamic duo "Nokta and Virgul' aka Nigel Robertson and Nese Keskin.

Concert organizer Nigel said "We are really excited about the concert. We want it to be a fusion of music and cultures that everyone can enjoy.
