A little bit of progress
« on: May 25, 2015, 02:58:36 AM »
At long last...it seems like forever... some progress. A new  Tapu has been issued to  the parents of the brothers so there can be no problems in the future regarding any other family members making a claim on the new home which is being built on shared   family owned land . This is really good news. The not quite so good news is we went with the architect to the manufacturers of the steel construction houses and sadly none of us were impressed at all and feel it is not the right solution long term. Without hands and feet the two boys are likely to be with their parents long term so we feel a basic brick built traditional home would be better . The architect is drawing plans for us this week then we will have a meeting with him and Dilek from Fetav to decide the best option. The architect has promised to try to get us as much building materials at reduced rates as he possibly can as after meeting with the family he too feels the desperate need to help them. The idea is to build a basic house now that can be added on to as the boys grow older and need their own rooms  Both the boys have been in hospital many many times since my last post as their hands and feet swell so badly with pus so they have to keep lancing them to drain them . The eldest has been told by the surgeon that his foot needs amputating NOW but they have told him to let them know when he wants the operation. What a dilemma to give a 13 year old who is terrified at the prospect . I will post again as soon as we have the meeting . Hopefully then it will be full steam ahead so we can get them rehoused before the inevitable happens regarding the amputation.

Thanks for the update Mavis, really pleased about the house but so sad for the lads. Hope things went well in the UK.

Thank you for the update Hubblebubbles, this breaks our hearts, like you we can't believe they left the choice of when to amputate to a 13 year old. If it's inevitable, then surely the Doctors should make the decision and so relieve the pain of the constant lancing. We just wish there was something that would speed up the building process. At least it's summer now and not freezing cold. It's great news about the Tapu at least and lets hope it's a productive meeting with the architects this week. Bless you Mavis you are doing a wonderful job and God bless these poor young boys.

It is just such a sad desperate situation. Those poor boys having to bear so much pain, knowing that inevitable they will lose their hands and feet.  Cant imagine how awful it must be.  Our thoughts and good wishes to the whole family.
