Is it right that Dwaine Chambers be picked to represent Great Britain this year in Valencia at the expense of young athletes who have not been involved in drugs scandals or outrageously suggested that the only way to win in UK Athletics is to be a drugs user. I know the situation is a complicated one but I think:D it is a disgrace that he represents our countries.

Phew that feels better, nobody agrees with me at home, I am in the minority :)

There is no denying that his performance at the weekend was outstading but he is a cheater, a liar and he brought athletics into disripute with his comments - but that's ok you can represent us as you have served your 2 year ban. Now I read that he is thinking of challenging the BOA's lifetime ban from the olympics.

right or wrong the governing body of the sport failed to test him over the period of his ban, he has meet and they have complied with international rules he won the race ahead of pickering? so must / should run.

It,s a tough one!

I've thought long and hard about this and I really feel that it's about time people got off his back and gave him a break. Yes he cheated, yes it's disgraceful  however he took the punishment given to him and like anybody, deserves a second chance. Lets get a bit of perspective on this, he didnt murder anybody, he cheated , which is bad, but he has paid the price with the ban he recieved and the humiliation he brought on himself. Give him a chance to see if he can be successful as a drug free athlete. If he is a success, the message from that will be that you dont have to resort to drugs to win, you can do it without. A positive can come from a negative situation.

Some good points there JB,but as a fully paid up member of the "hang em' and flog em'" Brigade,I can't help but remember the old one about cheats shouldn't prosper. Not very charitable I know but it just doesn't seem right.

Glenn :)

Thanks Bruce. Like I said, it's a difficult one.

I just want him to have the chance to win something legitimately and the message will then be look what can be achieved with pure time and effort and also that he didnt need to resort to cheating. He's been shamed and humilliated and deservedly so but there must come a time when you think ok ,draw a line under it and let him move on .

The drugs he took were muscle enhancing drugs, he is still using those muscles to win, is that fair?
