Title: Gents hairdresser
Post by: AandP on December 29, 2014, 08:51:38 AM
Hi.

Can anyone recommend a good gents hairdresser in the Calis / Fethiye region?

I'm seeking someone who can speak and understand English and who styles for the younger clientele.

I have tried many different barbers/hairdressers, but seem to have difficulty in receiving what I ask for. I always ask only for a very light trim, but always end up being scalped. the standard of cut and service is excellent (a lot better than in the UK) but sitting in the chair for an hour at a time, tends to lead to too much of my hair on the barbers floor and with me getting more than my monies worth!

Thanks...

M likes the Barber next to Zayra (hope the names right) anyway it's opposite cafe Pazar and Roka, next to a lovely bread shop. He seems to follow instructions and does a nice cut and shave.  :)

Gold Finger in Ovacik and also in Hisaronu have some very good young male hairdressers who do cater for the younger clients and do not scalp them.  Phil has the same fear and they did a good job on his hair.

Take a photograph along with you of the style that you're looking for.

Agree a price before you sit in the chair.

Ramazan a bit too traditional for your liking?

Yes Kayakebab, I think M went on your recommendation. (plus Johns hair always looks nice if course!)  ;)

Totally agree about the chap next to Zayra, have always had a good haircut in there. He speaks a little English and seems to understand what you want.

My husband always goes to the barber next to Zayra. Always has a really good haircut there. I seem to remember reading either on here or facebook that he was a tutor at "barber school" so he should be good!

Mr WB lets me loose with the clippers and seems happy enough.....  ;D

Just be aware, AandP, that if you go with Jacqui's suggestion and try Goldfinger that their HisarönĂ¼ salon is shut over the winter and the one in Ovacik is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only.   :)

Yilden at the Ay Barber in Ovacik, come up hill from Fethiye and he is in the first set of shops on the left hand side.  Good stylist, but also does a great shave.
