As most of you will know we have been visiting Calis and surrounding areas for 18 years, I have been a member of this fabulous forum for 8 years. We bought our apartment at that time. I have asked loads of questions from members and have always found everyone helpful in sharing their experiences and knowledge of living in Turkey. I am now free from work (Early retirement) and our house has been sold. We have booked our one way flight to Turkey for 30th March and though there is alot to do with clearing the house etc we are so excited to eventually be preparing for the next very exciting chapter of our lives. I will continue to check out the forum and ask questions. x 8) 8) Heather and Nigel x

Wish I had the courage to do it but I haven't, as I have said on other posts it I was 20 years younger and was not on my own I would love to give it a good go

There are so many people on their own here, and so many opportunities to help in charity shops, join the knitting group, join the Fethiye friends group, honestly, you wouldn't be alone for long.
I don't know how old you are, but I do know people who have moved in their 70's and even 80's, so it never too old.
Don't have regrets and what if's, do it...!
People here are lovely, you would have lots of support and friendship.

Congratulations you are going to love it.
We sold up and moved over in October 2012 and we are renting and we have been back to uk once in the 2 years and we are still learning and loving it.
Good luck to you , the 30th March will seem to take forever to get here but once you're on the plane you will be think OMG WHAT HAVE WE DONE
but believe me you won't regret it for one minute once you're in and settled.
We only have one regret and its quite a big one , that we didn't do it sooner ha ha .

I have just received a mandate form from pensions for having my pension paid into a Turkish account and the top of the form asks for my address? As I have sold my house and don't have a UK address anymore do they mean my Turkish address? Does anyone remember what they did re address?

I am getting so excited now and 30th March seems to take forever to arrive. Still I must try to be patient. I know I am going to love my retirement in Turkey Whoop Whoop x

Been living here since Oct 31st 2014 and loving it (despite the 'coldest wettest winter for years' - can't say we noticed !!!!) Warming up nicely now though !!!!

:D Well its been 10 months since we moved over here to Çaliş and apart from missing my grandchildren (note the I and not the we) We are living our dream and life here is everything we expected and more. Our Turkish friends have continued to love and support us. We love them so very much. Our Turkish neighbours are so helpful kind and friendly. We are so lucky. We bought a scooter to get around the area as Nigels back prevents us from walking too far. We are loving our experience. i will write a Blog as i have really enjoyed reading other members Blogs, but just now i am so busy either going out and about or just doing nothing Ha Ha. A few years ago we went to Turkish lessons and we intend to increase our language skills whilst here. The Turkish people are so pleased when they hear us trying to communicate in Turkish. We are so happy and look forward to this year being as brilliant as the last. x

Lovely update, we are planning our move next year so really good to hear that it's as good as you had hoped
all being well we to will be leaving Hampshire for calis next year, planning to drive over as the wife doesn't want to put the dog on a plane.

Hi everyone its been 16 months now since we made the move to Çaliş. Life is everything we hoped for. We speak to family on Skype and they have visited us here. I still miss the regular physical contact with my grandchildren and I always will but We are loving our experience and layed back way of life here. Just in case one or two members don't know.
