Check the Supermarket offers

I know some people give the supermarket discounters a wide berth both here and in the UK but I am of the opinion that if you keep an eye out for their offers you can often get some very good deals - so we look every week at their offers on their websites

We have bought 2 very good ceiling fans recently at 99 TL each and some other really good deals in both food and non-food and you really do save a a good amount by being selective - so we always check out the deals (even though BIM is my favourite)

We also shop around and read all the fliers. Maybe the more northern you are the more this happens.
I think your statement ''if you have the Time'' is the important bit, those who are a bit away from supermarkets or do not have good transport often tend to do most shopping in one place.

Always check your till receipt in the supermarkets when these offers are on.My friend Carol was in Tansaş the other day and 2 of the items she bought,on offer,were charged at the normal price.Fortunately she noticed this when she was leaving and told the cashier.She managed to get her money back but not till after she'd filled in forms etc.It didnt help though when one of the cashiers remarked 'Its only 2tl!' (in Turkish).What she didnt know was Carol can speak Turkish.2tl is 2tl and when an item is on offer it should be charged at the offer price.

Now that's odd as we had 2 food items charged at full price at our new Tansas when it opened a few weeks ago. Our bill was about 60 TL and we said "oh forget about walking back - it's only 2 x 2 TL"

Maybe it is company - or local store manager policy?
