Yes it's best to talk a positive game if you own & live there :D

My experience of expats in Uzumlu (far longer than your 1 year) is that I have friends who had to drop 60k to get sold there, selling at less than they paid in 2004 when it was cheap as chips to buy there.

Yoshi,  I think you should go to the older thread about Uzumlu and have a read through them.  It seems to be a bit like Marmite.

Yes Jacqui I have read them all and can except that it's not for everyone but as I've said before I believe it's down to what your used to generally in life. If you live in the country in the UK how could you be happy in Calis, Ovicek or Hisanaru, personally I can't think of anything worse so I guess that makes every area Marmite.

Yoshi, We have lived in the country in Scotland since 1983 and our place sits on a hill 1/3 of a mile from the main road, we have no near neighbour's. No street lights, no Tarmac road, no milkman, no bin pick up, also bonus no salesman calling.   We have fields all around us, with birds  of prey in the sky.  We have pheasants in our garden, grouse, hares, rabbits, deer, we have a view of Slains Castle and the North Sea and we watch the Shetland ferry pass by every night, we love the peace and quiet of our country home.
Our place in Calis is right at the back and has farmers near us and is very peaceful, we have great neigbhours who we like very much.  We are also just 5 minutes from the prom and 15 minutes from Fethiye.  We bought our place in 2005 and love Calis.  We would not consider anywhere else in the area and particular not a 20 minute drive up in the mountains.  However, we are all different and all love different things.  I hope to read in 10 years time that you are also enjoying where you have your Turkish home...Very good luck and best wishes.

BernieTeyze, it's exactly that ! Each to their own but that doesn't make anywhere bad just a matter of personal choice.
Jacqui you don't need to sell it to me, I am happy that you are too. let's hope your right and if I'm happy in Uzumlu in 10 years I will take you for a drink to celebrate.
