Title: Comprehensive car insurance
Post by: WendyA on April 03, 2018, 14:33:25 PM
Just wondered if anyone had tried to get fully comp. insurance for a U.K. car to be driven short term in Turkey? We are going to drive over (and back!) but it seems that the U.K. charge extortionate amounts for fully comprehensive insurance in Turkey. We have just been quoted £1300 for 90 days of driving in Europe, but, without Turkey this is much reduced. We want about 6 weeks of Turkish cover.  Anyone know of a better solution? We are wondering about just doing third party when in Turkey, but would prefer fully comp. Thanks...

For information we did get this through the National Farmers’ Union.

About 5 years ago I got fully-comp Green Card cover with an additional clause covering Turkey for up to 180 days and it only cost me an extra £90 on my policy with 1st Central.
