Definitely cash, WendyA, especially with rates the way they are at the mo.  You will also get a better exchange in the Turkish banks than in UK so bring a load of sterling then exchange.

To clarify one specific point - you do your deal with Bekir at Eren Spot and that is the total you pay - irrespective of whether you then produce a credit card or bundle of cash.

For anything electrical, white goods etc. then Arcelik  are very good. We bought in 2004, got everything from dishwasher to hairdryer and all installed and guaranteed. All good quality. :) Shop half way up  main shopping road in Fethiye on the left. Good web site too. Even have instruction books online in English! :)

It's on the corner opposite the entrance to Tuesday market (the one with the big digital display board) but these days you'd be far better to go to I-Yim, or Woolworths as it often referred to. That's about half way between Eren Spot & the footbridge on the same side as Eren Spot. Look for a white pitched frontage. They have all the glasses, crockery, cutlery & kitchenware at a fraction of the cost of the million shop. What they don't have you can usually get across the road at the Istanbul shop

Thank you Liz!

There are other shops to Eren, Bellona,Istiklal etc. but here is Eren's address. http://www.erenspot.com/index.php?main_page=index&language=en&zenid=vg3jo0cj1euq2ihtc4qa9597n1

If you want built in furniture there are good carpenters in the Sinai area opposite the bus station. The granite and stone merchants are there as well.  :)

Good luck with your shopping.

Needed a chest of drawers slimmer than the standard
Needed a free standing oven but already had a hob but did not have a cabinet.
Needed a tripple wardrobe that had to be dismanteled to get it up stairs.
Likewise with double bed.
Had an ice machine that had to go back every three months for nearly 3 years. Last month got a new one delivered.

All from Erin. It's not just the actual price it's also the service.

Have to agree "Eren Spot" is the place to go to buy most of the items you will will need to furnish an apartment or villa. Bekir is very reliable and  offers such a good service. We furnished our apartment some 5 years ago, buying most of our furniture from Eren Spot. On ordering our items we were asked what time would be best for them to deliver. We said any time that suited them. Within half an hour Bekir phoned me to say that the goods were on the delivery van and on its way to our apartment!
What more can you ask for. Top notch!
We have been in to Eren spot on different occassions since then to buy various other items and the service is just as good.

Have to agree with Scunner it doesn't matter how you pay at Eren Spot the price remains the same. When we bought loads of stuff he often threw in a free gift. One time a kettle, another a clothes airer

Thanks for all the advice, will be really useful.
Probably want some fitted wardrobes, maybe sliding doors.  Anyone know who could make (.), provide, fit, these?
