Sorry if this topic has been covered and it probably has been many times before, but I need to ask a couple of simple questions. In the great scheme of things where is the best place to change your cash? Is it while you are over in Calis or in the U.K.? I have seen the rate at the bottom of the page and this seems a bit higher than what is being offered by the post office and others. As always money is a shade tight and the difference would be aprox 60YTL on the money I could afford to change now, I do not want to be seen as a bit of a scrooge but that 60YTL would be far better off in my pocket than being looked after by our current lot in power in the commons.

P.S. It's raining again in Preston if anybody is interested, sunny though

Change it over here at a bank or PTT.

You will always get a better exchange rate in Turkey rather than the UK

We got ripped off by the guy in the clothes shop in Fethiye a couple of weeks ago.  He has a paperweight on his desk saying "Trainee Millionaire" - we now know why!  (Hubby and I were both a bit hungover, and obviously easy targets. Got ripped off by about £14 in total.)  We'll avoid him like the plague in future.  Sorry Steve.

:)Funny the guy outside the clothes shop always pops up when exchange rates are mentioned, I wont use him  but Kenny does,It must be worth it cos he sits outside from morning till night and if he's not there he will have someone else there. He looks like a smiling mugger, have used the same one in the jewellers opposite Marias, he;s okay, but its handy to know that Maria gives the same rate as him, ;)

We always use the gold/jewellers shop when in Clais, we have always found them to have a good exchange rate, this is the one on the left as you approach the bridge from dolphin roundabout... we have never been ripped off there....
