Calis in September
« on: July 16, 2008, 22:40:04 PM »
Hi All,
After some advice from all you wise ones out there.

Im looking to come out to Calis in September but I'm aware that Ramadan is running for the month of September.  Can you tell me what effect does Ramadan have on Calis and tourists etc.

Thanks
Angel

We were looking to come out first week in September as it fits better with work schedules (how sad are we).  I previously came to Calis in May/June so it wasn't an issue then.

I've been raving about how fab the place is so that she now wants to come and see for herself.

We just want to chill out at the beach or by a pool, laze about reading books, and have the odd drink or two of alcohol in the evening. So we'll be wanting to test out as many of the local bars and restaurants. Was just a bit concerned with Ramadan being in September - the advice on the website I found was a bit vague, so I thought you lovely people would be able to give me the definative answer.

I should have added that during this time, many locals will be fasting between sunrise and sunset, so if you are away from the obviously touristic areas (the prom etc) it is fairly bad manners to be eating in public (and smoking) as this can be seen as disrespectful.

Lots of people sleeping in the shops as they have to get up so early to eat. :)

I thought seen as the topic was called 'Calis in september' i'd jump on the back of it with my own question about 'Calis in september'.

I need to move out of my apartment for a week from the 11th, the owner is coming out for a holiday...
Does anyone know a cheap hotel i can stop in?x
