Calis has a bit of everything. If you want authentic Turkish then you will find it. If you want egg and chips unfortunately you'll find that too.
There is a huge variety of things to do/excursions and local transport is very safe and very cheap.
In terms of nightlife there are disco type bars which are great fun and there are sports bars and really nice quiet places.
My sons are 22 and 19 and they love it.
