New to Turkey - will be staying at Sunset Beach Club.  Is it within walking distance to Calis Market and does the market last all day or just a morning? 8)

Its quite a walk, but the good news is you can get the dolmus and It is on all day. Get the Fethiye via gunlukbasi dolmus from the dolmus station a few minutes walk from sunset

If you go to the Market go early, it's cooler and quieter in the morning.  The afternoons are very hot and crowded.

thanks guys for that info! A friend has told me Fethiye market is massive compared to Calis Beach and that they prefer the Calis Beach one - what do you think? Probably will visit both as like to shop but wonder what you advise?

I think both are too hot and Fethiye market hasn't got different things, it just has more of the same things - so it takes longer to see the same. Calis market for us every time  :)

Agree with Scunner, we never bother with Fethiye Market now, much prefer Calis Market.  Fethiye is huge and you just see the same stuff on all the stalls, plus it's like an oven under those canvas covers.

Calis Market it is then! I hear the 'haggling' is an experience - is it true you just offer ridiculously low prices and see what happens!!!! Have also heard that BOE is preferred to lire? .........this forum is great! Talk about getting advice first hand from all you guys!!  ;)
