Recorded delivery - Fethiye to England?
« on: November 26, 2013, 12:31:50 PM »
Hi.

Is it possible to send important documents 'recorded delivery' from Fethiye back to the UK? and how many days (on average) to complete the delivery?

Thanks

Yes. Go to your local PTT . They do a signed for service. HOWEVER, the problem is that the Royal Mail don't pass the signature details back through the system. If there's a query you'll have to use the tracking service at the UK end. You need to allow 10 to 14 days, especially in the run-up to Christmas.

I sent a recorded delivery letter from Fethiye on 13th November. It showed that it finally left Fethiye on 18th November!!!! Only just arrived in the UK. I wouldn't recommend it.. As KKOB said I have had no signature details since its arrival in the UK on 22nd.

I sent a package from Fethiye to Scotland in 2007. When it arrives I'll let you all know.

It was Returned To Sender but, in the meantime you had been deported at gunpoint, so they didn't know where to send it back to. It was eventually destroyed as "Unfit For Human Consumption".

I have used Registered mail a few times, once to the UK and a few times to continental Europe. They always arrived within a week and the cost was TL 4.95

Not to UK, but I send a registered birthday parcel to Sydney.  Australian postie tried 4 times to deliver to her secure entry appt, with no success.  We were very upset and when we enquired back in Fethiye, they gave us a print out of all the details.  Sent on 22nd Aug, received in Oz 9 days later, went to several Oz sorting offices, then couldn't be delivered.  Sent back to Instanbul.  Fethiye have sent an email to have it returned back to Fets.  Got to go and see if its there this week, fingers crossed. So the system is good, but in future will cargo.  She will now get her birthday presie for Xmas!!!!!!!!!!!!providing she see the card to pick up from local Post Office lol.
