Given that the season is now in full swing, does anyone have an indication of how things are going for the good people of Calis. Are they having a good season so far. Certainly hope so :)

Just got back to sunny aberdeen yesterday after 2weeks,speaking to the local people it is defo a lot busier than the past 2 years, we noticed a big difference on the amount of people on front and in Calis in general so i think it will be quite a busy season which is only good for the area, even people i know from o;lu deniz and hisaranou have heard that Calis is a lot busier, they seemed surprised.

Thank for your reply Dycedon - that's good news. Also nice to know you are back in the lovely city we were born in.

(PS If I may be permitted a little "chat", did we meet on a dolmus last year or maybe in 2006)

Numbers in bars and restaurants of an evening do seem quite a bit healthier for what is pre-UK school holidays, but to me, daytimes seem desperate, it's like an abandoned city  :)

The funny thing is that if you ask anyone from bars and reataurants hows business this year, they will usually grimace, scratch their heads and say 'not good business this year', even if the place has been packed to the rafters.

I think it's the glass half full mentality.

Not exactly, in my experience. I learned over the years that it is common to be this way. I never say business is great here, I too have adopted the 'not too good, not too bad' response. It all comes down to the fact that everyone hopes you do well, but if you do you don't say it, they don't like people that do well  ;)

According to Coop Travel Turkey has overtaken Spain this year as the Brits favourite holiday destination. Mainly due to the increasing Euro.
