Lighthouse, great for cocktails and coffee
« on: October 09, 2015, 17:47:15 PM »
I just wanted to give Lighthouse some attention. My wife and I always end up there for cocktails and they seem to make them larger and stronger than most places. They also do happy hour most of the night on many cocktails for 10 lira,  including a good Black Russian. For the amount of booze you get its seems best value on the beach front.

We also have now taken a few people there for a boozy coffee and all agree it's the best in Calis,  and those are only 13 lira.

The music tends to also be better than most places with a mix of eras,  and the camp guy that works there is always a laugh. I fully recommend a visit for a drink after your dinner.

Many happy memories of the Lighthouse, but not for many years - and this topic has made me decide to go back and try it - thanks  :)

We used to love it . It was really quite different at one time with imaginative menu and really chilled out sounds. Then it changed hands and the music was banging. We went last year and it seemed to have recaptured some of what we enjoyed about it but we'd left it till the last night to try! Will return in 2016 for sure

Seems that there are never many in whenever we pass which makes us think, illogically, that it's not a good place. :-[ :-[ :-[

My biggest memory of the Lighthouse was sitting upstairs on a deserted and laid back winter Friday, about 1am, and turning round from the bar to see that outside the windows the building was on fire :o

Luckily the dynamic duo of Scunner and Pool Gary were on hand to put the fire out...

Sounds like you saved the night!

Its never that busy but usually has a few tables of people. We tend to sit at the front people watching,  and the cocktails never take too long to make their way to us.
