Zanres restaurant closed years ago.  However, Zanres Fish & Chip Shop that was originally owned by Roger Morrison, Chairman of Peterhead F.C.   Has always been open.  They were so successful they opened another branch in Mintlaw.
Roger told me a number of years ago, his ambition was to win the best Chipper in Scotland award.  Of course, he did and he sold the Chipper to the Manager for a reputed very large sum of money.  It has been run by the current owner since then and is still as popular as every. We have a fish supper from Zanres once every week.  Zanres is an instituition in our area. They have at least 5 people serving and always have a queue out of the door. Roger now owns the Cock & Bull Restaurant at Balmedie, a place that our leader Scunner has eaten in.
So H, hope you enjoyed that potted history and hope you will try the Chipper one day.

I always wonder why the ex-pats get so irritated and annoyed when anyone mentions anywhere else but Calis on this Forum?

They don't if the topic is in the Football forum - unless Calis is now part of the Premiership (I don't follow the thing).
