Left in the dark again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: April 20, 2011, 18:36:11 PM »
Ross County's game against Queen of the South last night was abandoned, with County leading 2 - 0, after 65 minutes due to a floodlight failure - the second time this had happened in the same fixture on the same ground :o:( :o.

My question is, "why does the game have to be replayed from the start".

If the problem had been resolved within 30 minutes, the game would presumably have been restarted with a dropped ball.

So what is the difference in restarting the game with a dropped ball and playing the remaining 25 minutes, on a date in the future. What is the logical (?) difference.

Sounds to me like they are the victims of a betting scam.

Yes ronzeus but it's the innocent victim who is being punished.

I just cannot see what the argument against "starting" the game again at 65 minutes at a later date.

Would you see the argument against it if it had happened in the 89th minute?  ;)

Might have been handy if someone had done the floodlights at White Hart Lane this evening, say around the 89th minute ;)

I'm sure you have all been waiting to here the outcome of this sorry tale.

Well the game was replayed last night, on a neutral groung (Stirling Albion), and County emerged victorious 1-0.

As my fanatical daughter remarked - Justice was done.:D

Mind you the fat lady certainly isn't singing yet and County are not safe yet.:(

I went to see a Luton Town match one evening during their fight to stay in the football league. Sadly the floodlights stayed on for the entire game!

Birmingham v Arsenal in the Bergkamp, Henri,Pirez era, floodlight failure for 40 minutes just before kick off. I wished they'd stayed off, the Gunners stuffed us 4-0.Come to think of it, I don't think we would have got so much as a draw even if we'd have blindfolded that team !!! Just had to applaud how brilliant they were. Bet they miss 'em now.
