For members of a certain age, I thought it might be fun to see how many faces you can identify in this grainy photograph which was in last Saturday's Ross County v Cowdenbeath Programme.

I don't suppose you'll recognize many of the County players but how about the rest, particularly the following:

Front Row:
2nd from Left looking at the photograph
4th from Left looking at the photograph
6th from left looking at the photograph
8th from left looking at the photograph
10th from left looking at the photograph

Back Row:
2nd from right looking at the photograph

Can you give a small clue - what year is it?

I think  can see Danny McGrain, Bobby Lennox, and Lou Macari in the front.  Not sure about the other 2.  Is that KD in the back row?

Scunner - giving the year would be a big, big clue.

Tinkerman - I should have known you wouldn't recognise football when you saw it.

I asked because I too saw Lou Macari in the front row, but the feel of the photo seemed a bit too old for it to be. I didn't want to look a fool :D

Year might be difficult date to as it looks like the picture has been 'doctored' to me - different heads put on a actual bodies in the original shot.[^]

Even if I am right about the doctoring, the identity of the second player on the left, front row is, and you'll excuse the pun, is certainly doing my head in.  And I think you are right about Macari, but I thought he only played for Celtic, and if that is Dave McKay front middle, I thought he was a Hearts man before heading south to that backwater of english football (aka White Hart Lane).

We'll at least I've put my head up over the parapeet

I have no idea why you would think that the photograph had been doctored :o:-\. See Extract from programme.

The date was August 1970, ColinT was correct with all his suggestions as was Scunner with Lou Macari. Not Charlie Adams badger
