Are you asking me to do something Max? I don't really understand what you mean. People write about bars on here, good and bad. That's the idea.

I have never been to your bar nor written anything about it - what am I supposed to have not shown? No offense mate but could you get someone English to write your thoughts for you, then maybe I'll have a clue.

If it's about anyone who has written about you on here, best you take it up with them not me.

I think it relates to an earlier thread about the price of cay.

If it is about caygate. Why on earth would you want to rake that up again?

It sounds like some customers are claiming they made nice posts which have not been shown. Someone from down that end of the beach who knows him, maybe you could explain how it works on here?

All about the price of cay and customer services, 9 pages should get you up to speed UBT: http://www.calis-beach.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=51862.0 although I must say if that were my bar I'd want that topic to silently slip away from page 1, not randomly arrive at the forum weeks later to bring it all up again!!!

We are accused of not allowing people to post good things about his bar which is 1. Impossible and 2. So un-CBF it is laughable.

But he likes his regular rants at us. Facebook groups for the area delete more topics in a week than we do in a year - and my number 1 priority for CBF is content - good or bad. I have never found an internet forum on any subject that lets all the opinions stay as much as we try to. There is no way any of us would delete a good review about a place - we are promoting the area, how many times have I said the number one thing we need is plenty of good reviews?

Paranoia rules once again, no good reviews must mean they are blocked, even though they post instantly and several hundred people would have seen them before they were "deleted". Anyone seen one? Any of the anonymous English customers of this bar care to contact us to confirm their good review was "blocked"?

Thought not.

Maybe someone has tried to leave a good review on that topic and found it to be locked? Not saying that is the case but it might be the reason Max thinks they have not been shown.

Max - if you want to message me directly I will try and help - because just coming on here and saying things like this is not helping you my friend.

As a moderator I can confirm that we do not delete posts unless they are offensive, abusive or break the rules of spam or advertising. Anyone who is allowed to join can post anything and it will be shown - until such time it is deleted by a moderator.

I think Max or his wife should go to T.A. and update their details.  They have 6 good reviews, but only six and they date from 2010. The last one was in August 2013.  So, if he wants good reviews he should not be coming here complaining, but should go to T.A. give them his new details and ask his satisfied customers to give him good reviews on T.A.

If your friend (in Olu Deniz now) signed up at the time of the Cay Incident, and opened her account with a sugary glowing review of a restaurant, it would be deleted under our strict advertising rules. Joining to advertise a business has never been allowed. That's one person, you said there were six, who are the other five? Or was it her maybe, six times? Friends, eh!

Once again you are damaging your own business. I have nothing against your business, having never been there I have no opinion to offer good or bad, and haven't posted about it, ever.

So it's a good move for you not to either, you haven't done well so far.

I've been following this thread and also the Caygate thread some weeks ago and I can only assume that apart from a language issue this guy is bonkers.

If he spent as much time on promoting/running his business as he does ranting on here about things most of us do not understand he would be a lot better off.

What about the infamous CBF Efes Riots of 2008, Laffa? Or were you damaged so much by those that you've wiped them from your memory?

Was that when members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Calis stormed the ramparts of CBF Towers because the price of Efes was increased to 4TL?

I wrote my post yesterday ( the 16th birthday party post) before I had read this thread, but I would have still wrote something about Kaca Calis beach bar because we had a really  good experience there ,we always do at Max bar and even though we only went there twice this time , it was really busy both  day and night…. Each of us have good and bad things to say about our times in Turkey, and we can only judge people as we find them , I think the problem is if you take everyone’s views seriously you would never step foot off the plane , We must have all felt “let down “ at some point of our stay’s in Calis, but we keep coming back ,and  that says a lot for how much we love the place. I think the best thing Max can do is take Jacqui advise and register on Trip adviser and take things from there.

Tiger, He does not need to register, he just has to let them know he has changed the name of his business. In fact, any customer can contact T.A. to advise them of the change too.
This is the link for you or him.

Good, and while this topic is about any positive reviews of Max's place being removed, your appraisal is very much still here. Perhaps when speaking to him next time you could tell him to stop being so paranoid. We don't remove all the positive reviews, he didn't get any (till yours).

I am pleased you had a great time there and even more pleased that you took time to share your experience. That is what the forum is about.
Title: Re: TO the BOSS ( Scunner )

well I would not  actually speak to  Max about his ,or my post , I wouldn’t have a need to . As I said I posted a comment about a nice birthday night, I hadn’t realised the post before it was concerning "post removed etc." ... But in fairness , I would never tell anyone not to be Paranoid, I have read a lot of paranoid post on this forum over the years , it really is human nature to sometimes take things personal, even if it is not intended that way.
The problem is we all go to places to eat or have a drink and we call the restaurant by the name we first knew it as, so sometimes it can be hard to write a proper review
especially about the bars on that stretch of the beach . I personally just wish them all luck with their livelihoods, they are  all part of what makes our holidays lovely.

Really? You're just 16 and have been reading paranoid posts on here for years? - I couldn't get my kids to read anything on here, ever :D

Obviously I am not asking you to tell him he is paranoid - I was asking you to tell him you posted something nice and it wasn't removed. But if you don't I'll pull through this somehow.

Who and who is not paranoid and what is the name of this bar   ;)

I hoped that this post had had its day weeks ago only for the wound to be re-opened, what a shame. None of this including the recent positive posts by Tiger are helping this businessman, even though the review was a positive one, all it has done is brought back the negatives from the original post.

Lets move on please as I have someone watching me and I cannot concentrate  :o  ;)

Do you know I get sick to the back teeth of these business,s blaming this and that for various failings etc...we all have our own favourite places/ people,we are all unique in this life (thank goodness there is only one of me)!!!
But what I dislike more now my rosé coloured glasses are off is when the old oh another CBF ganging up or unfavourable review to such and such,s mate of bla bla bar restaurant...
Title: Re: TO the BOSS ( Scunner )
Post by: Scunner on September 17, 2014, 22:50:43 PM
It's nothing to us really - since almost day one businesses have looked for outside reasons why they are not doing well, CBF often being the target. Sadly it is very rare I hear anything at all when CBF posts and recommendations are responsible for sending people their way.
Title: Re: TO the BOSS ( Scunner )

Presumably because you are allegedly (in his mind) blocking all positive reviews of his business and therefore starving him of business, thus making him poor!  :)
Title: Re: TO the BOSS ( Scunner )
Post by: Karennina on September 18, 2014, 10:47:17 AM
That is very true Keith I have experienced this personally on a recent trip and have decided not to bother recommending places to people that may be going to Calis..
I will still give praise where it is due but will let folks make their own choices and decisions....
To me there only seems to be one person I can think of who never begrudges another person doing well in the restaurant business, who will always give a good review of a place if they've had a nice meal etc and defo does not seem out for what she can get and that is Nichola from Moziac...
Maybe that is why her and her hubby,s business continues to go from strength to strength...
Without meaning to hijack this topic a little pup got hit by a car on our last visit and whilst I blamed myself to some degree as I had been petting it when I ran around like a looney trying to get the dog some help the owner of said pup which we knew he owned it or it was at his place earlier in the evening would not put down his frigging pad taking beer orders even though there was someone else there to take over from him to come and see to his dog...fair enough he has since paid some money to the vet but we were appalled and I do admit never returning to Turkey again after that night...
If it had not been for AA lord knows what would have happened to the little darling...
