Very Interesting Football Table
« on: March 27, 2014, 14:30:34 PM »
This very interesting stat is brought to you by www.transferleague.co.uk

Since Arsenal last won a trophy here is the NET transfer spend of the 'top' PL clubs.

Manchester City £516m
Chelsea £285.9m
Manchester United £169.3m
Liverpool £144.8m
That lot from harringey £61.7m (I can't even say their name!!)
Arsenal -£7.7m that's right a net contribution not spend.

Now I will keep my mouth closed at this point, as there are many ways to interpret these figures.  So I will open 'the floor' to everyone else for their views on what the figures tell us.  Although I bet I can guess what Des is going to say  ;)  ;D ;D

No Des nothing to do with maturity, or indeed Arsenal.  I simply expected you to draw the conclusion that this confirmed your often stated view that Chelsea and Man City have bought the title.

Give your manager a statue!!!
We will, and the sooner the better for me.  We only have statues of past players and managers.  ;)  ;)

As to the cash spent vs trophies, this season we may be ahead in the PL points stake (not hard!!), but on the period of the table, how many trophies have united won since we last won one?? Answer 5 Premiership Titles, 1 League Cup, 4 Charity Shields, a Champions League and one World Club Cup.  Money well spent I would think most Man U supporters would say. :( :(
