Two parts here .....firstly you will have to make arrangements to get to Kas Bus, taxi, hire a car etc. Then contact this guy Selahattin Ciplak (Selo) who runs a boat tour to Meis He will give you all the details. The trip is 35TL return on the Boat . There is a duty free shop on Meis and you can save a bob or two there.
Although against Forum rules I will post his tel no as it is readily available in the Land of Lights paper anyway. 0537 6745572
Selo speaks good english so no problem there. :)

Hi Craven. I did this trip by air con Bus from the Fethiye terminus cost 9ytl each way to Kas. Booked with Selo before I left. Take mobile phone as Selo will call you to make sure you are on the way. He met us at the bus terminus in  Kas and returned us to it afterwards. You need 15 euros for your visa get that before you leave as the banks in Kas are very busy.Have a good trip

Peter

In Meis there are two tiny shops, two tiny cafe/bar things, a small duty free and a collection of people waiting to get back on their boat and get the hell out of the place.

Rhodes ferry terminal has more to see than Meis. It is a wonderful place, loads to see and do  :)

The visa has to be paid in Euros and the boat trip is ok in TL. The duty free will also take plastic and there is avery small Greek bank and an ATM so you can change just what you need. :)

How much is the ferry to Rhodes?  Did the Meiss run a couple of weeks back out of necessity but the Rhodes trip sounds more appealing.

I went to Rhodes yesterday with Yesil Dalyan. It cost 115YTL for the coach to Marmaris, and fast Sea Cat service to Rhodes. This gives about 6 hours for shopping, sightseeing etc.

Pick up was at 5.30am in Fethiye and we were dropped off at 9.30pm.

Apparently the Flying Poseidon hydrofoil that runs out of Fethiye is Kapoot ! Possibly won't be back in service this season.

I did trip to Meis in August for 21£. Including transfer from Kalkan. Can't remember who it was with. I can find out. Doesn't including renewing visa as I didn't need it.

The visa they will accept sterling if it's a UK passport.

I took 40€ out from the cash machine in Meis spent 20 on morning coffee and on my share of a meal. Nice meal but lots of fat and bone in the lamb.

Bought whisky at the duty free shop on Switch which sometimes doesn't work. It's a lot cheaper than Turkey and maybe cheaper than UK duty free if you don't buy those cheap plastic bottles like I do. Less weight to carry. Cigarettes are cheaper in Turkey unless you prefer a specific brand.

The duty free shop get a list of passengers coming over so they know who's entitled.

I have 20€ left which is now added to backup if the ATMs go down or I lose my ATM card.
