It was either spend a fortune on it or demolish it, and they're spending a fortune on it.
You can see from the photo's that the front and back of the reception area have been demolished - you can see straight through to the rear now:

Quality not the best as I took them on my phone.
A successful Calis needs the Aries Hotel, and the hundreds of people it brings into town, I hope it will look very attractive once they have finished.

Hi
Great news about the Aries (and good to see the pics. too).
The Aries was the first hotel we stayed in sometime in the late 80's - it was top of the range in those days and there certainly wasn't much competition!! Will be interesting to see the finished refurb.
-
If they knock the top floor down I will get a sea view and that would be nice!
I agree with you Calis will benefit from it being upgraded. Keep the pics rolling Keith.
-
Thanks for the pics Keith.
I wonder what the timescales are for completion or as it's Turkey there aren't any? ;)
-
Thanks for info Keith
I also agree with you Calis will benefit from it being upgraded.
Calis does seem to be getting better or should I say even better.

If Musti gets a back gate fitted they wont have to walk far for the best pub in Calis!
It is such great news that the Aries Hotel is being refurbished, it can only mean good things for the tourist trade in Calis, I bet they will all fall in love with the place and come back time after time like the rest of us on here.

There is a back way in at the bottom of the Scarlett road - and yes, I well remember them walking back to their hotel and being gentle coaxed in ;)
-
I always get gently coaxed in too![^]
-
It's when you get gently coaxed out you have to worry ;)
-
to think I used to work there and cant even recognise it now.

:)Think they will do it up to a high standard as its the biggest hotel in the area, good news for Calis, i wonder who will be taking it on though, hope its not direct holidays again. :o
