Title: Dreaded Income Tax
Post by: bewva on May 10, 2005, 18:41:34 PM
Can anyone enlighten me on the taxation laws in Turkey for renting out your property e.g.
What % tax should you pay?
How is it collected or should we declare it?
Who should we declare it to?
Are you allowed a tax free allowance as in the UK?
Can you offset costs like maintenance etc?

I know most of the responces will be 'keep quiet' but i'm interested if anyone has had their collar felt by the Turkish equivalent if the Inland Revenue and what experiences people have had.
By the way i'm an owner NOT a tax inspector!

Do you pay tax on your property even if you are not renting it out.

i dont know if this will help .
i bought a book called "the sunday times buying property in turkey" by john howell &tim locke.it has got a section on tax in there,it has everything in it and i mean everything .
i think you would find it a good read for just over £10 and it would answer loads of other legal/genral questions its got the lot .

i hope this helps brummy
