Title: How green was the valley
Post by: DonM on December 18, 2013, 11:28:53 AM
This was a green field site four weeks ago in Keciler. It's one of three properties being built within 250 metres of us.

That's progress for you, Turkish style, no discussion with present residents, no appeals procedure, but plenty of frickin' back-handers !!  >:( >:(

It was only 10 years ago that Green Valley/Deliktas was pretty much empty - now there must be next to no land to build on at all. I must agree with Gordon that there is a sad lack of planning in all this - places like Deliktas and Koca Calis could have been built round a new town square, maybe with a parade of shops - but there is no provision for any of that - just house after house.

Must be a Turk building that, I just hope it's not a yabanci paying for it, only to end up with no money and an illegal house.

The only way to preserve a view is to buy it!

We were offered that land about 12 years ago. We turned it down because, even then, it was too busy for us around that part of the valley.

The land was sold for about £65,000 according to rmours.

Is there a map available that shows the areas or districts of Fethiye ect, ie,boundary lines.?
I can't remember seeing one and would find it useful when people are discussing different areas.

Here is the one I use Kevin - not perfect but the best I've found (apart from huge ones on Belediye office walls but you can't nick them  :)

We now have four houses being built within 300 metres of us now. No more rock drilling so just the usual building site noises.

This is the house opposite.

My god, that's a big build on that plot of land, bet it turns out to be a "boutique" hotel. The owner has some balls too I think, either that or totally ignorant to how it works.........or then again just a rich Turk who will be able to buy whatever they decide for his tapu.

Two of the houses being built close to us are on the hillside and had no access to the road so they made a drive taking up half the road. Fortunately the road is fairly wide at that point and we can drive through OK. I hate to think what we happen when they try and make it permanent.   :)  :)

You don't need to paste all that Don - just the location of the image - it starts http and ends normally .jpg or gif - I have underlined the bit you need.

Hit the add image button

You get two tags:

[ img] [ /img]

Between the tags add the image location which is shown:

Forget the rest, that's all you need - click add image, put the underlined bit in the middle of the tags, post  :)

Thanks Keith, all I got to do is remember it all.

This is a shot of our camper van on Kas harbour in March 2006 waiting for the eclipse.

It worked  :)  :)
