Title: Private health care and doctors
Post by: sweetpea on July 18, 2005, 20:12:11 PM
Hi

Has anyone any advice, or can recommend, a private health insurance company please, and approximate costs if possible.

What is the health care like, i.e. doctors and hospitals?

Oh ... and the dentists?

Thanks for your help
Les and Beverley

Very useful information. Had a look at website and the prices look great. Think it has to go on the list of things to do in Turkey!

Hello Sweetpea,
My Family and I have just got back from Calis, on our 2nd week my 4 year old daughter complained her ear was hurting so we took her to the private Esnaf Hospital in Fetiye, they had english speaking doctors and diagnosed her as having an "external ear infection", they immediately gave her a pain killing shot that took hold within a few hours, they also prescribed her antibiotics and 2 lots of drops. The cost for the consultation and injection shot was £45.00 and we were really pleased with the way they were, they were brilliant with a little girl who was in pain and tears. In general much better than some our hospitals.

Doll, I live for 6 months of the year in Turkey and 6 months in the Isle of Wight. It is presently impossible to get a NHS dentist on the Island and they even run "tooth ferries" to France so people can get their dental work done there! I have been meaning to register at the FETIP dentist for ages so on your recommendation that is one of the things on my list when I go back out in September.
Thanks, Chrissie.
