Antibiotics??
« on: July 23, 2007, 17:03:46 PM »
Hi,

I wonder if anyone can advise or help, we're due to come to Calis on Friday  :), Yetkins pics have sure kept us going!!

Anyhow, i had an absess in my tooth and the filling in the tooth above it fell out, ive been having root canal to my top tooth and the one that had an absess will be treated on my return, the dentist has given me a prescription for 500mg Amoxycillin just in case the absess returns, i was wondering how easy these are to buy over the chemist counter in Fethiye, i just begrudge paying for a prescription i hopefully wont need, but then they will be a god send if the absess returns  :)

A normal prescription over here is £6, and you know what you are getting, why take the chance.

You can buy most antibiotics over the counter out here for less than the cost of a UK prescription.

Bring your prescription with you to show a local pharmacist.

Antibiotics available here without prescription  also fake drugs if you go to wrong chemist.
Some drugs can cost more than UK prescription.
Take Tinks advice and spend your £6 before you leave.

Hi,

This is Tinks' son. I've purchased antibiotics in Turkey before and didn't think they were particularly cheap. You also have to factor in the cost of a taxi to the pharmacist and back. Why bother with the risk of fake drugs (which are more common than you think) and have all the added stress when you already have an abscess?! Surely a £1-2 saving is really not worth it?!

Dr. Neil Trent MBBCh (hons),

I have a rather itchy rash on my inner thigh. Could I scan it and email it to you for a diagnosis?

Last year I had an absess underneath a crown. Equivalent to Amoxycillin cost me 35 ytl at chemist in Gunlukbasi.
