Artesian Well
« on: May 26, 2008, 14:35:50 PM »
We recently agreed with our neighbour to have a well drilled to share between our properties. Their maintenance company organised the job but we have not been impressed with the standard of workmanship, quality of the equipment or way the job has been finished. Most importantly, neither of us or or our respective maintenance people have been able to get it to work properly.

Another neighbour claims that since the was well drilled, they are having problems with operating their pump and are blaming our contractor for siting it too close to their bore hole which is approx 2m away. From what we have heard the price paid (800 YTL) was what we would have expected for drilling, pump and hose. However, we expected a quality and correctly completed job.

Apparently our bore hole is only 14m deep while the other neighbours is 20m deep. I am told that as the water table gets lower holes need to be drilled deeper every few years.

The idea was to save on water bills so we want to resolve the problem and be able to use the well as soon as possible.

Is their a standard depth for wells in the Calis area? What should be have expected to pay? Are there any basic rules for the proximity of one bore hole with another?

Can anyone offer impartial advice here? Thanks.
